Madeleine
🛒Ingredients (Grocery List)
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) unsalted Butter, softened, plus melted Butter for brushing
1/2 cup all-purpose Flour, plus more for dusting
1 large Egg
5 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Vanilla Sugar
Pinch of Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Powder

🥣Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Brush a Madeleine pan with melted Butter and dust with Flour, tapping out the excess.
2. In a bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the Egg with the Sugar, Vanilla Sugar and Salt until thick and light. Using a wooden spoon, beat in the Flour and Baking powder, then the softened Butter.
3. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of batter into each mold. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake until golden around the edges and a toothpick inserted into the center of a Madeleine comes out clean, 10 to 12 minutes. Turn out the Madeleines on a cake rack to cool.
💡Tips
The Madeleines can also be flavored with finely grated lemon zest or orange flower water.
These little Madeleines can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
Do not beat the batter with a whisk or the Madeleines will be too crumbly.
Use a brush when buttering the Madeleines so every crevice is coated.
