Tartiflette

🛒Ingredients (Grocery List)

  • 2 Yellow Onions, thinly sliced

  • 1/3 cup Dry White Wine

  • 3/4 cup Heavy Cream

  • 1 pound Reblochon Cheese, sliced

  • Pinch ground Nutmeg

  • Pinch freshly ground Black Pepper

  • 1 large cloves Garlic

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 2 1/2 pounds waxy Potatoes, new or round white Potatoes

  • 1/2 pound diced Smoked Bacon

🥣Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Add the Potatoes to a pot of cold water. The water should be enough to cover the Potatoes. Season with Salt, then bring to a boil over medium-high heat and let boil for about 10 to 15 minutes or until fork tender. Drain and let cool.

2. In the meantime, peel and mince the Onions and Garlic. Roughly chop the Bacon. Heat the Olive Oil in a large pan over medium heat and sauté the Bacon and the Onions for about 3 minutes. Add the Garlic and sauté another 2 minutes. Then add the White Wine and let cook for 2 more minutes.

3. Peel and slice the cooled Potatoes. Add half of the Potatoes slices to a baking dish. Season with Salt and Pepper and top with half of the Bacon-Onion mixture. Layer over half of the sliced Reblochon and repeat the process with the remaining ingredients. Cover with the Heavy Cream and bake to 400 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

4. Serve immediately.

💡Tips

  • With smoky bacon, potatoes and Reblochon cheese, this easy French Tartiflette recipe makes a great side dish to share.

  • You may wish to leave out the Wine. This isn’t to break the recipe It will still taste delicious. In this case, just replace the Wine by 1/3 cup of water.
