🥣Instructions

1. In a large saucepan of boiling salted water, cook the Potatoes for 25 to 30 minutes. Drain.

2. Meanwhile, in a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of the Butter over low heat. Add the Onion and cook until soft, about 10 minutes. Add the Garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the meat, season with Salt and Pepper, and cook for 5 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a small saucepan, heat the Milk until barely simmering. Mash the Potatoes. Beat in 1 tablespoon of Butter, then the hot Milk. Season with Salt and Pepper.

4. Brush a gratin dish with Butter. Spread half the Mashed Potatoes in the dish, then spread with the meat mixture and top with the remaining Potatoes. Sprinkle with the Cheese or Breadcrumbs. Dot with the remaining 1 tablespoon Butter. Bake on the top shelf of the oven for 15 minutes and serve.

💡Tips

  • If serving it as an entrée, start the meal with a soup, offer a green salad as a side dish, and finish with a cheese or dessert.
