Crème Fraîche


🛒Ingredients (Grocery List)

  • 2 cups Heavy Cream Pasteurized, not ultra-pasteurized

  • 1/2 cup Cultured Buttermilk

🍴Serves: 2 cups

💤Resting Time: 2 days


🥣Instructions

1. Combine the Heavy Cream with the Buttermilk. Pour into a glass jar. Cover tightly with a cheesecloth or any breathable material and let sit at room temperature between 70 to 75 degrees for 24 hours. When the mixture has jelled and is almost firm, screw on lid, and refrigerate for a minimum 24 hours. It will solidify further in the refrigerator.


💡Tips

  • Be sure to use the best, freshest Cream you can find. Look for pasteurized, non-Ultra-pasteurized Heavy Whipping Cream. Make sure to use Cultured Buttermilk, otherwise you will wait a full day to see nothing happen.
