Tangy Sautéed Beef and Onions


🛒Ingredients (Grocery List)

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 3 or 4 Onions, sliced

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose Flour

  • 3 cups chopped leftover Beef

  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste

  • 1 cup Beef broth

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 4 or 5 Cornichons, sliced crosswise

  • 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar

  • Chopped Parsley leaves for sprinkling

⏱️Cook Time: 15 min


🥣Instructions

1. In a large skillet, melt the Butter over medium heat. Add the Onions and cook until lightly brown. Stir in the Four, Beef, Tomato Paste, and Broth and season with Salt and Pepper. Cook for 10 minutes, then cover and cook for 5 minutes.

2. Just before serving, stir in the Cornichons and Vinegar. Transfer to a warmed serving dish, sprinkle with Parsley, and serve.


💡Tips

  • If you have made a Pot-au-Feu, you can use the broth from that. Otherwise, White Wine or Water will do.
